Promises to Keep
I haven't been very good at blogging but I know now what I will start with in 2011. I saw a challenge on Facebook called the 30 day photo challenge. A friend of mine has been working on hers for a while now. In fact, I think she is a little over half way through it. I think I will begin mine on January 1. I will do my challenge on my blog, instead of on my Facebook account. That way, I can go into more detail about my pictures. I have just received an HTC Desire phone with geo tagging capabilities and although I don't know all there is to know about how to use this, I will learn. Trust me! I am that stubborn! Maybe I can use the geotagging as part of my project. Who knows?!? Anyway, here are the directions for the challenge.

Community Change
The World Wide Web has certainly changed since it began. When it started out, it was a library of sorts, a repository of information. Now it has become a collaboration tool. I love the new adaptations! I just found out that one of my all time favorite "libraries" has now evolved to become an online community! This site is Thinkfinity.com. Check out the link on the side and please join the community!

New Beginnings
Okay, it is November of 2010 and I first set up my blog on January 2009. I was not very good at keeping up with my blog but I am going to give it one more shot so today I begin a new blog. F. Scott Fitzgerald said, “Vitality shows in not only the ability to persist but the ability to start over." If that is true then I am chocked full of vitality.
What I was thinking this morning as I was coming to work was my move into the 21st century. I have had a web presence for several years now; my home page is linked at the side of this blog. But my home page is done is html and is not made to interact with others but rather to merely provide information to others. I need to rethink my web presence. Of course, I have a facebook page. You can visit if you wish; I will not accept your friend request unless I know you. I also have a twitter page; you are welcome to follow me. Facebook is what I use to communicate with my friends and family while twitter is my professional learning network. I want to start a blog as my daily reflection, my online diary. Needless to say, I am not sure right now if my blog will have a cohesive topic or just be a hodgepodge of thoughts. We will have to see about that. But I do know that if I don't make myself write every day, I will never get my blog off the ground.
And why am I wanting to write anyway? Well I am beginning my doctoral degree in Instructional Technology and soon I will begin my dissertation. If I don't practice my writing skills in some fashion, I am going to be up the creek without a paddle.
So now I have my blog started. Speaking of writing, I need to finish a 5 page essay on using the web as an instructional tool. TTFN!
